  • Submit an adoption application.
  • Fill out a pet surrender form.
  • Apply to become a foster parent.
  • Express interest in volunteering.
  • Make a donation.
  • Create an account on the website, if applicable.

Demographic information such as age, location, and household composition may also be collected.

How Information Is Used

  • Process adoption applications and match pets with suitable homes.
  • Follow up with adopters, foster parents, volunteers, and donors.
  • Send relevant updates, information, and event announcements.
  • Respond to inquiries and requests.
  • Process donations and manage any online account functions.
  • Verify information provided in forms and applications.

Safescape states that it does not share personal information without consent except as required by law, to protect safety, or to investigate abuse or fraud.

User-Generated Content and Paid Services

  • Safescape does not currently allow user-generated content such as photos or reviews.
  • Safescape does not offer paid services or subscriptions, but it does accept voluntary donations.

Adoption Process

  • Applications are reviewed carefully and are not handled strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Matching decisions prioritize the long-term well-being of both the animal and the adopter.
  • Adopters are responsible for veterinary care, food, and all ongoing pet expenses.
  • If rehoming becomes necessary after adoption, Safescape asks to be contacted first.
  • All information in the application may be verified.
  • Misrepresentation can result in denial of the application or revocation of adoption privileges.
  • Safescape reserves the right to deny any adoption request based on suitability.

Pet Surrender

  • Submitting a surrender request is treated as a formal request for Safescape to take custody of the animal.
  • Ownership is irreversibly transferred to Safescape upon surrender.
  • Safescape may not be able to provide regular updates about the surrendered pet afterward.
  • All surrendered animals become eligible for adoption under Safescape’s own process and discretion.
  • The surrender agreement is described as legally binding on the live site.

Fostering

  • Foster animals may require medical support, behavioral training, socialization help, or specific dietary routines.
  • Fostering is temporary, and the duration depends on the animal’s needs and the adoption process.
  • Safescape covers primary medical expenses, though some incidental costs may require contribution from the foster family.
  • Regular communication with Safescape about medication, behavior, and health concerns is expected.
  • Foster caregivers must follow instructions and provide a safe, loving temporary home.

Volunteering

  • Volunteering requires commitment, reliability, and consistent attendance.
  • Volunteers must complete training and follow safety protocols while handling animals.
  • Confidential information about animals, adopters, and internal operations must remain confidential.
  • Discrimination, harassment, or harmful conduct is not tolerated.
  • Volunteers are expected to follow staff instructions and communicate openly with the team.
  • Some roles may require particular skills or prior experience.

Donations

  • Donations are used for Safescape’s animal welfare work, adoption and fostering initiatives, advocacy, and operating costs.
  • Donations are described on the live site as eligible for Section 80G tax deductions under Indian law.
  • Secure third-party processors may be used for online payments.
  • Donor recognition may happen publicly unless anonymity is requested.
  • Refunds are generally not possible because funds are allocated immediately to charitable work.
  • Safescape reserves the right to modify the donations policy at any time.
